A great divide is evident between players that want
it and players that don’t. This has been noticed in both amateur
and professional teams.

- Do certain age groups think its
‘un-cool’ or embarrassing to be seen to be running around
aimlessly, so almost ‘strut’ thinking they know best. (this
would suggest that they are aware of their surroundings and
perhaps not totally focused on their game?)
- Is parental back
up LESS than 15 years ago? Support may be there but supporting
them to do what? (Whatever they like with no focused outcome?)
- Do we now have too many options for our children as they grow,
offering the chance to follow other sports routes? How many
sports teams are they playing for? Is the emergence of many
other sports lessening ‘the hunger’ for one specific sport
option?
- Will non-competitive sport at school be an issue as
our children grow depriving them of valuable lessons in both
winning and losing? Competing?
- Are coaches coaching properly?
Does their education allow them to compensate or adapt for
certain players or groups (Audio, Visual and Kinaesthetic)
- Does
the player know what the coach and their parent expect of
him/her? Similarly, do they all know what is expected of each
other from each other? How regularly is this assessed?
- Are we
practising too much socialism at schools and organisations?
